Dealing with abusive parents Dealing with abusive parents

I am 22 year old.. I am being locked inside the house whenever my parents go out, constantly monitored inside the house. I have been saving money to live on my own. I am working from home secretly without their knowledge.

I have been struggling with their mental torture, verbal abuse every single day and physical restriction from going out. In the past when I happened to tell them about the job offer I got which is outside of Hyderabad, they were verbally abusive constantly till i rejected the offer. There were past incidents which were horrifying to a point where I have trouble sleeping at night times.

Once I was dragged to an unknown village overnight in the name of a relative's death. and was isolated for five days by giving some withcrafted medicines. I was 18 year at the time when this incident happened in my life. It is against my will, I was fed some witchcrafted medicines/herbs. Now i am 22 years old being locked inside the house, verbally abused every single day and no happiness at all. There is not a single day where I smile. It is very traumatizing for me.

I want to live my life. I might be complaining about my parents but I am living a very unhappy life with trauma. The reason I am very much scared is that My parents know a person who does settlements and has some connections with local congress party members. Once I leave the house, they will file false complaints on me.

I want to give a written statement that I am not kidnapped or running away or eloping but leaving the house to live on my own. I want a lawyer's assistance while I do this in a PS. Because my parents know someone from the congress party, I am willing to pay a fee to a lawyer to assist me to give that written statement. I do not want to file any complaints on my parents and run around court. I just want to have my human rights and live with a smile.

A.You can lodge FIR with local PS, most of the states have facility of filing online FIR also. If you are woman, there are many phone helpline numbers for Domestic violence help. As you are hesitant to file complaint against your parent, Domestic violence cases can also be resolved outside courts with the help of NGOs, police via mediation.
Alternatively, you can file legal suit for domestic abuse and violence against your parents, and can file maintenance under section 125 of CrPC

I visited a local PS and gave a written statement stating that I am leaving the house and any complaint from my parents can be ignored. But the police were trying to call my parents and have a councelling. Which I refused. I constantly told them that it's very threatening and not to call/inform them until I leave the house. I asked them for one day to wait. How can I avoid a councelling call? I do not wish to talk any such talk with my parents. My parents will act as they agree in supporting me but when we return they will lock me inside the house. Can you please advise on how to to refuse this conversation with my parents that police keep pushing.
