Regarding my shop

Hi.. My name is umesh kumar. I have rented a shop 30 years ago without any agreement and running the business. But from six months my owner is not taking the rent and now he send me a legal notice to vacant the shop. He is telling to case in court to vacant the shop. What can i do please tell us pls
A.Dear Sir,
Oral tenancy is also recognised in Courts. You may get issue a legal notice and file eviction suit before the Court.

A.Since there's no agreement you cannot legally claim any hold and the owner is liable to ask you to vacate the place. It is advisable that you solve this matter amicably with the owner by healthy discussion. Check if he wants to increase the rent or wants to sell the property and try to offer him accordingly. If you want you can also reply to his legal notice through a lawyer and request him to talk to you and settle this matter amicably. Thank you.
you can reply to the legal notice that has been sent to you stating that you were always giving rent but he was not taking and even in addition to this, ask back the reasons why he wants you to vacate the shop. If there is evidence to show how you were ready to give and the owner was not talking is very helpful.
