Hi sir i have married since 4yrs i have two small kids. My husband drinks a lot and hits us very badly h we are not able to be peacefully.. And i cant afford to hire a lawyer can u plz tell me wat to do

A.Please get in touch with Free legal Aid Service which can be found in all Courts. They take up such matters on pro bono basis. All you need to do is to make an application and fill a form which will be given to you. They will appoint a lawyer for you who
will file a divorce case against your husband. You can also make an application u/s 125 Cr.PC for maintenance. Beside this you can lodge a complaint with the local police station under Protection of Women from domestic violence and Section 498A IPC. Once he gets arrested, he will also stop his drinking habits.

A.U can file case under domestic violence act for domestic violence done on you and maintainence also( both for self and children). U can also file a petition for divorce on the ground of cruelty and desertion.

A.If u can't afford a lawyer, then approach District legal services Authority in ur district/ town.The office of the authority is in the District court premises of your district. U will get advocate at state expense. All expenses will be born by the Authority.
