SECTION 80 DD
I am a salaried person in Government Sector. My brother is 100% disabled and under treatment. My father is a retired person. My father's income is less than 5 lac annual and he is unable to bear expenses of my brother. I have to pay a lump sum amount of 1.5 lakh annually on my brothers treatment. Can I avail benefit under section 80 DD. if Yes then which documents I have to Produce in support.
A.Dear Client,
If your brother is dependent on you then you have to showcase that using some document. In want of a document I would suggest that you make an affidavit affirming that he is dependent on you. When the IT asks you then show that along with the expenses done by you for him.
