Wrong khata number in registered sale deed..
I purchased land and registered it in 2003. Unfortunately the khata number was mentioned wrongly in the deed.... the original seller is not alive now... how to correct this?
A.Dear Client,
You can contact the legal heirs of the owner and execute a rectification deed to rectify the khata number. Or if they do not agree you can file a civil suit for declaration of title of the property.
Thank you

A.Dear Client
Since the original seller is not alive hence, what you can do is file a suit for declaration and pray the court to declare that the sale deed had wrongly gotten the khata number and the eight number is being brought in. Once the court has declared that then you can go to the sub registrar for correction.
