Advance money taken but product not delivered

Hi, I wanted a hand drawn painting done by end of April. The culprit said he would do it and took the advance money. Post that he stopped picking up my calls or replying to my messages. After a lot of hassle, he finally replied and said he would do it before may 10th. Again no responses, no calls, no painting. I was supposed to gift the painting but now have missed the date. What can I do? The money transfer was via NEFT.

You can send him a legal notice asking for your advance amount and if he doesn’t return your money then you can file a complaint at the consumer forum.

It seems that the person is trying to cheat you and hence you can lodge a police complaint against him and also you can send him a legal notice through an advocate before taking any further legal action.
