My brother has been married on 7th of December,2022 and within 10 days of marriage his wife started to torture him.She is mentally harassing her husband. She is also doing violence(mar pit) on him.She is always threatening him that I will call on 100 number then you will be in the jail. And she is also not ready to give divorce and sometimes she tell that she will only give divorce If my husband will give 12-15 lakhs to me.She is although doing fake drama whole the day like bagging head on wall, making fake marks on her body and then giving threat to her husband that I will show this to police and she is using the misuse of law which were made for the security of women. We had been talk to the others lawyer also and they are telling to live atleast 6 months together but my brother don't want to live a single day with that women. She is harassing her husband and becoming good in front of her in-laws and that's why my brother's parents supporting her daughter-in-law and not him.So plz suggest what my brother have to do in such situation he is so much in trouble...

A.Dear Client
You can file a Written Complaint in the police station and it would be better if you take help of an Advocate for framing a formal legal complaint and also file for divorce petition.
Hope it helps.

A.Hello Client,

Firstly your brother needs to lodge a GD at your local police station against his wife that she is threatening him. so that it becomes a proof.

If the marriage has not been 1 year yet then he can file a petition for nullification of their marriage before the court with proper grounds. or else, he can file for contested divorce after 1 year of marriage. for further consultation kindly approach an Advocate.

Thanks & Regards
