Got Copyright Claim on an uploaded youtube video
1 year ago
I am a youtuber. Today I posted an Audiostory written by Sayantani Putatunda, recorded in my own voice, in my channel. The Audiobook also contains parts of few Ravindrasangeets (songs of Ravindranath Tagore), sang in my own voice, at different places in the audio, due to the requirement of the story.
Immediately after uploading, the video got a copyright claim. When I checked details, I saw that, out of 4-5 ravindrasangeets I sang in the audiostory, there is copyright claim on 2 ravindrasangeets. One claim is from LatinAutorPerf (on behalf of: Assure Digital Services Pvt. Ltd) and the other claim is from BMI - Broadcast Music Inc., IPRS_CS, on behalf of: Ekta Atlantis Music.
My point is, Ravindrasangeets are composed by Ravindranath Tagore. How can any private music company send a copyright claim if someone sings a Ravindrasangeet? Then all the singers in youtube would have got copyright claims in each of their videos...isn't it?
To make my video free from copyright claim, if I delete my self-sung Rabindrasangeets from the video, it would kill the essence of the AudioStory.
What should I do now?
As you would be aware that patent or copyright ate based on tue novelty amd uniqueness of what you create. In case that is present in your software then you can go for IPR
