A.Dear Client,
When a written complaint is filed in a Police Station against a person, said complaint is recorded either as General Diary or FIR based on the nature and contents of the complaint. So, once a complaint is registered and recorded, the concerned PS is dutybound to investigate the complaint and dispose of the complaint noting down the reason or ground of disposal. Sometimes, that recorded piece of evidence may be called on by the Court or other investigating authority to prove a cause of action or any other essential purpose. Thus, a written complaint in PS should not be underestimated, until and unless the validity of document is barred by limitation or the time limit for the preservation of such records is expired as per notification or advisory of the concerned dept. So a written complaint may be treated as a stigma to one's character and can be used as a piece of evidence to define one's character later on. So, you need to keep a copy of the disposal note of IO disposing of the said Complaint for your defense.

A.Dear client,
It is less likely to immediately affect a person's character certificate if a complaint has been made against them but no First Information Report (FIR) or formal case has been registered. But let us tell you that the effect on a character certificate, however, may vary depending on a number of variables, including the nature of the allegation, the veracity of the complainant, and the policies of the granting authority. Even though no formal legal case has been filed, if the complaint is significant and raises questions about the person's character, it may nonetheless indirectly affect the character certificate's judgement.

A.If a complaint has been filed against a person but no First Information Report (FIR) or formal case has been registered, it is less likely to directly impact a person's character certificate but However, the impact on a character certificate may depend on various factors, such as the nature of the complaint, the credibility of the complainant, and the policies of the issuing authority. If the complaint is serious and raises concerns about the person's character, it is possible that it could indirectly influence the assessment made in the character certificate, even if no legal case has been registered.
It's important to note that character certificates are often based on a holistic evaluation of an individual's conduct, including their behavior, academic or professional performance, interpersonal skills, and adherence to rules and regulations. Therefore, if a complaint has been filed, it may have some influence on the overall perception of an individual's character, even if it does not directly result in legal action. Ultimately, the specific impact on a character certificate would depend on the circumstances and the discretion of the issuing authority.

Thanks and Regards
