I have sold my car but the buyer is not getting the ownership transferred at the RTO.
What obligations do I carry for the vehicle?
And what can I do about this situation?

A.Dear Client,
It appears from the query that the status of your sold-out vehicle is marked with a negative stigma that never allows the transfer of ownership from one hand to another until and unless that negative remark is cleared or waived following the recommended process. The reasons behind such negative remarks amongst others are, non-payment of bank loans, accident reports, and violation of traffic rules which can be accessed online from the website e-parivahan. So, in the prevailing situation, both the seller and buyer of the vehicle should visit the office of the Registering Authority/RTO concerned for further clarification and steps. The application in prescribed forms as prescribed in the Motor Vehicle Rules for transfer of ownership and address of the vehicle is required to be filed by the Buyer within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle and non-compliance of statutory obligations, both the parties may face legal consequences.

Notify the RTO in your area about the sale of your vehicle. Submit the necessary forms and documents for the transfer of ownership to the buyer. This will ensure that your name is no longer associated with the vehicle and that you are not held responsible for any future liabilities related to the vehicle.
