A.Dear Client,

A character certificate is an official document issued by a government authority, police, or a gazetted officer, affirming that an individual has no criminal record or ongoing court cases. In instances where a criminal case was resolved in 2004 and records are unavailable, filing a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is recommended. This petition aims to expunge criminal records and secure an order for issuing a Character Certificate from the relevant police station. Alternatively, seeking assistance from the District Magistrate for the same purpose is also a viable option.

A.Dear Client,
A character certificate is a legal document issued by a government authority, police, or any gazetted officer. It is an important document stating that the individual does not have a criminal record or any court cases registered in their name. A criminal case disposed of in the year 2004 and for non-availability of the Court's record and pending criminal case, you have to file a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the removal of criminal records and an order for the issue of a Character Certificate from the concerned police station. You can also approach the District Magistrate concerned for the purpose. Reach out to an Advocate for guidance and steps.
