dear sir or madam, today police came to my house, where I live as a tenant. he brought a notice under section 41 a CRPC against a person but I don't know the accused. as I am a tenant I have no connection with the accused I don't even know him and and today I heard the name of that person for the first time. allegations against him are under IPC for fraud, mischief, house tress pass, voluntary causing damage to property. he told me to sign the notice as a prove that the police has came to the address. to be noted the owner of the flat doesn't stay here.he stays in another city. I told the police officer to ask the owner to sign but he told me that the person present here is supposed to sign and not the owner because he is not here. he told me that if I don't sign then he will suspect that i am obstructing police officer from discharging his lawful duty. when I signed the notice. he told me that nothing will happen and under my signature hero that the person accused doesn't stay here according to me. I told him to write that I am the tenant but he didn't write because he told me that he is not supposed to write this. now please help me I am tensed. will anything happen to me?. please help me.
