I have taken an insurance policy, its a family policy after 3months my wifes name is removed from the policy showing non disclosing of pre existing disease, they removed with out any notice, now i opted for cancellation of policy, now they are not cancelling my policy, Can i file a case against the company

A.There is no reason for not granting your demand/wish to cancel the policy. Approach them through formal medium, write mail to the concerned department, branch and to their head office.
Serving a legal notice may be pocket pinching for this purpose so avail it as a last resort after you have exhausted all other options from your end.

A.Send them a legal notice first for not including the name of your wife.

A.Dear Client,
Firstly, you may write an email stating all your grievances to the Insurance company. If that did not, you may approach a lawyer for issuance of legal notice with respect to the same.
Kindly note the pecuniary jurisdiction for the filing the case:-
a) The District Commission- to entertain complaints where the value of the goods or
services paid as consideration does not exceed one crore rupees, or
b) The State Commission - complaints where the value of the goods or services paid as consideration, exceeds
rupees one crore, but does not exceed rupees ten crore
c) The National Commission- complaints where the value of the goods or services paid as consideration
exceeds rupees ten crore.
TIME LIMIT:- within 2 years from the date of cause of action has arisen.

A.Such cases are plenty in the market. Approach the consumer forum if you have evidence proving that your wife has no pre existing disease.
