As per your details it is clear that you have repaid the hand loan to your friend but your friend had taken advantage of your blank cheques, dont worry you made a complain in the bank that particular cheque is missing and not to proceed, then send a legal notice to your friend narrating all the happening between you, if not legal actions will be initiated against your friend

For proceeding under N.I.Act you have to deposit the said cheque into your bank account and after clearing if it founds that the Cheque was returned due to inssuficient funds or any other cause in the said cheque return memo.
