My dad purchased an agricultural land 10 years back. He sold it three years back to bare marriage expenses of my sister. When he sold the land he contacted many two to three brokers. One of then helped to sell the land. My dad paid the commission to the one who helped. Other two brokers asked for commission. My dad gave some money. They demanded more money. My dad refused to pay. They planned to create problem to my father. The contacted the person who sold land to my dad ten years back. And gave him some lakhs of rupies to him. They put a case on my dad saying that my dad purchased that land by blackmailing that seller other wise he would not sell the land. My dad is a farmer. He is not having full knowledge of law. He paid lakhs of rupies to lawyers who turned to other side for more money. Now police also demanding money for not to book case on him. Being a CA student I have little knowledge about law. I found this is a plan to loot my father. Now police are demanding lot of money. They are blackmailing that if he doesn't pay it will be a big problem later. My father had wasted nearly 15 lakhs in this issue by paying to lawyers and police. And now I just want to help my dad. How can I help him. I want to know what problm it will become in future. I need a genuine lawyers who can process this issue and make this issue closed. Please advise what my father should do now.

A.Not sure, why such a big amount was paid? what kind of complaint they are filing? Once property sold, the liabilities end.

in case of any dispute, the parties may approach civil jurisdictions. If your father blackmailed or something, he should have filed the complaint before 10 years.

Please meet another lawyer at native and explain the whole case to find a suitable solution.
