I came to Bangalore from Kolkata, as my husband is being transferred there. Now I got a job at Bangalore. My husband intended to file a divorce suit at Kolkata. Can I insist to transfer the suit to Bangalore as my financial condition do not afford to attend at Kolkata, neither my office will allow to leave station frequently.

A.Yes you may contest with the help of a senior professional family court lawyer for jurisdiction or transfer the case to ban galore,if need you can seek help of high court advocate to Bangalore jurisdiction.

A.Ma'am you can request for transfer of suit to Bangalore but before you request you have to appear in Kolkata till the suit is transferred.

Also be advised that transfer of case from one state to another, you will have to file a transfer petition in Supreme Court.
In the mean time if you donot attend the case in kolkakta then ex parte judgement can be pronounced against you.
So, you need to be very careful.
