I want to purchase a land in Chennai.The seller does not have original parent partition sale deed done in 1976.But he has his original sale deed done in 2004 and his previous owner sale deed done in 1997.can I buy this property?

Yes you can buy this property if the documents produced by the previous owner is genuine.

A.23 years old sale deeds seems to be fine.
