Tree cutting law Tree cutting law

I have a tree that's grown 30% into govt land and 70% in my land. Can i cut that tree? - its a tree that's allowed to be cut without permission if its in your property. This is in Kerala. If i do cut it will there be any legal case against me? Naturally the tree cannot be cut 70%, so whats the rule here? I want to build a boundary wall and this tree is the corner, so have to cut it down.

A.Hello,
The tree does not submerges completely in your personal property because of which it will become mandatory for you to ask for permissions from the authority even if the cutting is allowed. If not done, you can attract serious penalties in Kerela as per the strict laws.
