My father wants to transfer one home from his name to mine as inheritance for me. What is the best way to execute it? Gift deed or settlement deed?

It is better for you to exercise a gift deed in this case. Also, the consent of all the sibling is required if the father wants to gift property to only one of his son.

A.Hi,
It is advised to exercise a gift deed in such case.
In case you have any sibling, such deed will only be valid if they give their consent that your father can gift the property to one of his child.
