Maternal grandfather's property partition

can a grand daughter of a maternal grand father can ask for partition in his ancestral property?He has only daughter and now he is no more.

A.Hi,
The girl's mother will have the right of ownership over the property. The daughter will only receive this right on her mother's demise.
