Property name not known
We had a house in kanpur, but we don't know the legal owner name whether it is in name of my father or grandfather. Our father ousted us at our early age so we don't have legal documents also. Now he is no more. We only know the address of the same. How can we find out owner details. And is it possible that we can own that house now.
A.Dear Sir,
You have to get details by visiting the office of Sub-Registrar and getting encumbrance certificate or approach property lawyers or brokers or engage property detectives.

A.Hello
You could retrieve the information regarding the property from the registrar office. Also if you people have been living on that property for more than 25 years then no one could cliam the same. if you are paying all the taxes of the property and have proof of the same.

A.Hello
If you have the possession of that house for more than 25 years and paying all the taxes for the same then you can claim title of that land.
Also you could go to the registrar office and get the history of property owner of that property.
Thanks

A.Yes it is possible to trace the fact under whose name the property is. You have to file RTI in online under the UTTAR PRADESH RIGHT TO INFORMATION RULES, 2015 before the Kanpur Municipal Corporation on the basis of that house address requesting them to provide the information within 30 days regarding the recorded Owner of that house as well as the arrear house Tax in respect thereof.
It is also possible to get the property until and unless your father had transferred the property in registered manner in favour of any other person .
