Postal money order not accepted - Tamilnadu RTI
2 years ago
I paid the RTI application fee of Rs.10/- via postal money order to a govt office in TN but the PIO refused to accept and remit the same into Head of Account, RTI, Govt of TN. It amounts to refusal to accept the RTI application and subsequently denial of information. How can I proceed now?
A.Dear Sir,
You have to approach the Appellate Authority with your grievance and thus PIO may be directed to accept postal order and to furnish relevant information to you.

A.Hi,
You should first confirm the reason why the money is not accepted. It can be that there are additional fees that are required to be paid towards the cost of providing information within 30 days and therefore, there is a denial of information. If there is no mistake from your side then you can seek to review your RTI under the appellate authority.
Thank you.

A.By giving Legal representation seeking Demand for Justice , if the dispute will not resolve then can file Writ in High Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India against the Postal Authority.
