I am going to buy a property and would like to know the documents that I should collect from the developer. Also please specify what should be in original and duplicate.

A.I agreed with advocate prabhakara. Apart from this documents you need to check out in which area this land comes in. Whether it's industrial area or residential area. Because some time we ignore these facts and after purchasing we regretted. All documents must be verified as original and even licence of developer will be verified.

A.First there will be documents of the land on which the project is developed. Secondly the documents evidencing right by which the developer does the project, and lastly the permissions, NOCs, encumbrances, agreements and legal compiiances according to the local and apartment Laws. Internet sites are full of check lists for you to refer. It appears you want to personally do the legal scrutiny, go ahead.
