Certified copy of registered deed of conveyance
5 years ago
I have purchased a property by taking a bank loan which I and my seller have registered through a deed of conveyance. Now my seller is forcing me to give him a certified copy of that registered deed of conveyance which he wants for income tax purposes. Please advise whether I am liable to give him the certified copy of the registered deed of conveyance or can refuse him as I do not want to give it to him anymore?

A.Ask him to get the certify copy of the conveyance deed from the registration office. What best you can do is to provide him with the xerox copy. That's it.

A.Don't give him a certified copy but can give a xerox copy of the deed with some writing on it saying it is for income tax purpose only. Another thing if he is asking a copy for income tax then it means that he has to show the transaction value which he can get a copy from the registrar's office. Ask him to get it from there.
