I am denied a date change option on non refundable booking on make my trip

I have a booked ticket on MakeMyTrip for a hotel booking which read non refundable. While making the payment, I ended for the hotel for 8 th June instead of 9 th June. Immediately within 10 minutes I called their customer support and placed a request for name change. Later the next day the agent called me to inform that property declined for date change and hence I forfeit all the money. Later I escalated and protested and they went on requesting more time for two weeks to engage with the hotel and resolve the issue. Finally, they said they tried their best and unable to get any support from the property and hence it was a no show I have forfeited the fee paid.
I beleive they should provide an option of another date change of my choice as the the time elapsed. Pleased advise what legal options I have
as the booking mentions that it is non refundable, it is highly impossible to get the refund.

I am not asking for refund and only asking for a date change where I can avail hotel on an alternative date

Delay in work by interior designer and not providing copy of contract
Refund against service provide | study abroad consultancy
Order cancellation without user consent
Service center failed to repair the phone
