Property inheritance - My father passed away recently Property inheritance - My father passed away recently

My father passed away recently without making a will. We are two siblings. My brother wants to take co-ownership along with my mum and is asking me to sign a release deed.
I want my mother to be a sole owner of the property, at least till she is alive. She can decide to make her will or decide how best to divvy up the property when the time is right for her.

My brother is angry with my suggestion, accusing me of brain washing my mother, wherein I personally do have any interest nor intention to claim my share. I am only doing this to safeguard my mother's rights.
Am I doing anything wrong? Kindly advice.

A.Dear client,
You are not wrong. It's always better to make the widow responsible for the assets to protect her rights. If not the entire share, she should definitely have complete ownership of a part of your father's assets. You can suggest your brother to divide the assets into 3 parts where your mom gets one, you get one and your brother gets one. All of you will have the absolute ownership of your shares and your mother can transfer it to anybody later on according to her wish.
