Owner Tenant Dispute
I lived in a pg which I'd to leave urgently because of job switch. Owner has the deposit. I'm not asking the owner for deposit. I haven't paid electricity bill so I asked owner to deduct it from the deposit or keep the whole amount with themselves. Now owner is threatening me and my family that they'll do complaint and all that. Please note that no paper contract or agreement was signed between us although they have my Adhar and PAN copy and the bill amount is less than the deposit too. Should I need to worry? Because I'm quite scared because of them.
A.hi client,
You need to have a proper rental agreement. When you have deposited such amount do you have any sort of agreement/proof/ receipt/bill for the same?Generally the amount deposited in rental purpose is considered to be a security amount and it is refundable only when you leave, after deducting the damages or dues the tenant has.
For now try to solve the same mutually if not working write them a legal notice.
Thanks and Regards
