A.Dear Client,

In the state of West Bengal, there is a specific act on the subject matter of your query that is known as The Right to Public Services Act. 2013 which is applicable to public offices and deptts. After the enactment of said Act, all the public authorities notified the time limit for disposal all kinds of public services rendered by them to the public provided the public applies for the same with all requisites following the procedure of application and steps to be taken by public on breach of time limit prescribed for a particular service. Office of BL & LRO and offices of Land Deptt being a public authority also notified the time limit for disposal of all the services rendered by them either on their official website or on their notice board. You may go through the said notifications either from the office/deptts or from the official website and take appropriate action to obtain the desired information. Apart, you can also submit an application to the SPIO seeking desired information from an office/deptts of a Public Authority u/s.6(1) of RTI Act, 2005 and the State Rules, 2006 attaching therewith a court fee or IPO of Rs.10/- towards the application fee. The concerned Public Authority is duty-bound to respond to your queries within 30 days of receipt of your application u/s.7(1) of the Act provided the information sought by you is not restricted or exempted from disclosure u/s.8 & 9 of the Act.

A.Hello,
As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the guidelines and deadlines for receiving a response from the government land department in West Bengal may vary depending on the specific department and the nature of the application. However, I can provide some general information regarding timelines and processes for government responses in West Bengal.

Application submission: Ensure that you have submitted the application with all the required documents, including the court fee and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. This helps facilitate communication and ensures a response is sent to the provided address.

Acknowledgment receipt: Upon submission of the application, you should receive an acknowledgment receipt from the government land department. This receipt may contain a reference number or other details that can be used to track the progress of your application.

Processing time: The processing time for government applications can vary significantly depending on the complexity of the matter and workload of the department. In some cases, there may be specified timeframes set by law for certain types of applications, but it is advisable to check the specific rules or guidelines applicable to your particular situation.

Follow-up communication: If you haven't received a response within a reasonable period, you can consider following up with the government land department. This can be done by contacting the designated authority or through written communication, referencing the acknowledgment receipt and the application details.

Legal recourse: If there are undue delays or a complete lack of response, you may seek legal recourse. Consult with a lawyer who specializes in administrative law or public interest litigation to explore the available legal options for your specific case.

It is important to note that these guidelines and timelines may have been updated or revised since my knowledge cutoff in 2021. To obtain accurate and up-to-date information regarding the guidelines and deadlines for receiving a response from the government land department in West Bengal, it is recommended to refer to the relevant government department's website, contact their helpline, or consult with a local lawyer who can provide the most recent information based on current laws and regulations.
