Relative refusing to give back money/plot. Relative refusing to give back money/plot.

My relative took money from me during his daughter's wedding and promised me his plot. I have his sign and witnesses sign in a normal paper but not on stamp paper along with a Audio recording of him admitting to take money. Now he is refusing to give me plot and saying I will give you just the amount of money I had given him. After almost 9 years he is giving me just same amount of money. I have putted two conditions:
1: Give me plot as promised.
OR 2: Give money but after adding interest.
And he is just returning actual amount of money back.
What can be done?? Can I win if I put case against him as he is ready to give actual amount of money back??

A.Dear client,

Having a signed document and audio recording can potentially be beneficial in supporting your claim. While it's ideal to have a written agreement on a stamp paper for enforceability, a properly signed document on plain paper can also be considered as evidence in court. The court will evaluate the credibility and weight of the evidence provided.

In your case, if your relative took money from you during his daughter's wedding and promised you his plot in return, you may have a legal claim against him for breach of contract or specific performance. You can consider taking legal action to enforce the agreement and seek the transfer of the promised plot.

However, whether you can win the case and obtain the plot or additional compensation will depend on various factors, including the laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, the evidence you have, the strength of your case, and the court's interpretation of the situation.

It is advisable to consult with a lawyer who specializes in property or contract law to evaluate the strength of your case and guide you through the legal process. They can assess the specific details, evidence, and applicable laws to provide you with the most accurate advice and help you determine the best course of action.
