Property issue - My mother owning a property Property issue - My mother owning a property

My mother owning a property in chawl it's going under redevelopment (Mahada) few days before she passed away. Builder is telling her property will be lapsed even though she has made will that it will be equally distributed among her 5 children. But he said it can be owned by any one child who doesn't have a property in his/her name. I am the one who can get it. But I have to transfer all my documents in that address. My question is that after transferring my documents is there any surety that will get that property in my name?

A.Dear client,
Transfer of immovable property such as flats, apartments and land is highly complex, attracting a great amount of paperwork, legal complexities and tax implications. The law of succession to a property, depends on whether the deceased person has executed a will or not. For proper transfer of property, one needs to apply in the sub-registrar’s office. The applicant will need the ownership documents of the property, that is, the Will with a probate or succession certificate.
