A.Dear Sir,
Normally, it cannot be stopped unless there are special grounds. You may get issue a legal notice and get to know the special grounds for stopping.

A.Dear Client,
A managing committee cannot stop the rent of society members, until and unless a resolution is passed on a majority of votes in duly convened meetings following the provision of the Byelaws of the society. You may approach the Registrar of the Cooperative Societies to resolve the matter amicably at the prelitigation stage failing which you may serve a legal notice to the concerned Society and reach out to an Advocate for guidance and steps.

A managing committee does not have the authority to stop the rent paid by the developer in a redevelopment building, especially if it has been part of the contractual agreement between the developer and the society members. However, if there are pending maintenance and internal grievance issues, it is important for the managing committee to address these concerns through proper channels and in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the society.

If there are specific issues that need to be resolved, the managing committee should follow the appropriate legal procedures and engage in dialogue with the developer to resolve any outstanding matters. It is essential to ensure that all actions taken are in compliance with the laws and regulations governing such situations.
