To correct the surname of your father, you can follow these steps:

1. Affidavit:
- Prepare an affidavit that includes your current name/surname, the desired name/surname, the reason for the change, and relevant details stating that "A s/o B" and "A s/o C" are the same person.
- The affidavit should be executed on a stamp paper of the appropriate value, as per the state laws.
- Preferably, swear the affidavit before a 1st class Judicial Magistrate or Executive Magistrate.

2. Notification in Gazette of India:
- Publish a notification in the Gazette of India, which is an official government publication containing notifications, including name/surname change notices.
- The notification should follow the prescribed format and be published in at least two local newspapers.

3. Name/Surname Change Deed:
- Draft a name/surname change deed, a legal document confirming the name/surname change, including details of the old and new names.
- The deed should be executed on a stamp paper of the appropriate value, as per state laws.
- Have the deed signed by two witnesses and notarized by a Notary Public.

4. Submit the Deed:
- Submit the name/surname change deed to the relevant authorities for updating records.
- Include additional documents such as a copy of the Gazette notification and a copy of the affidavit.

Ensure you follow the correct procedure to ensure recognition of the name/surname change by the concerned authorities. It's advisable to consult with legal professionals for guidance and to ensure compliance with specific state laws and regulations.
