Hi
I have been staying with my colleague in a rent house from the past 6 months and our colleagues who are staying in hostels will visit my room on weekends, one girl who calls us as a brother ( we have several months chatting which proves she is like a sister to us) will visit our house with the colleagues and sometimes she visits alone and only in the day time of weekends she will visit, but yesterday we got a call from police station that someone complained that we're running a prostitute house and want to vacate the house, we asked who filed it but police not revealing their details, we spoke with the owner and owner has no problem of visitors and they're also asking who went to police station without informing the owners, this is not a community or flats, it's individual house and owners have no problem but police asked to visit today evening along with owners.
Is it a crime, how can we justify it and how can we know the details who complained falsely.

A.Dear client, it is not a crime if someone visits your rented house. As there is no problem for owners one cannot have a issue with it. Talk with police regarding this with evidence having with you.

A.Dear Client,
If you are sure and feel it is a false allegation made against you with ulterior motives, then you can make a private complaint before the concerned court of Magistrate under Sec.200 Cr. PC which outlines the procedure for a Magistrate to take cognizance of an offence. The section begins with the requirement that any person who desires the Magistrate to take cognizance of an offence must present a written complaint or information. A magistrate taking cognizance of an offence on a complaint shall examine upon oath the complainant and witnesses present if any and the substance of such examination shall be reduced into writing and shall be signed by the complainant and witnesses and also by the magistrate to initiate the onward proceedings into the complaint. Reach out to an Advocate for guidance and steps.
