Property Tax Demand Notice Property Tax Demand Notice

We had constructed residential cum commercial building in the year 2009 after getting due permission / approval from gram panchayat office.
Property tax assessment done and door numbers allotted and fixed yearly tax.we have paid the tax for the year 2009-2010 and obtained receipts for the same from Gram Panchayat office.
In the year 2019 telangana govt changed gram panchayat to municipality(ULB).
Now in March 2020, the commissioner from newly formed municipality issued notice demanding unexpected amount without considering any previous record of property tax.
We have shown the previously obtained documents issued from gram panchayat office. The Commissioner refused to accept previously issued tax receipt and documents as there is no record available in his office for the same.
Now he is insisting to pay the demand notice amount which was affixed on property wall.In that notice owners name is not mentioned and also there is no door Numbers written.
Kindly advice what to do....

A.First send a written submission to the Municipality Commissioner giving all the details of the previously paid tax, and take a receipt for the Same. If they persist in their demand then you can file a civil suit for declaration asking therein the stay on the demand notice. You can also move to the High Court under Writ Petition for the required direction in this regard.
