Ancestral Property Doubts Ancestral Property Doubts

I want answer to a few basic questions related to ancestral property, and in very short.
1. Where is ancestral property defined in India? Any act or court judgment? Please name the exact acts or cases so that I can look for myself.
2. Where is it mentioned that ancestral property becomes self acquired after partition or inheritance? I want to see the same in actual records, and not just in the news or internet articles.
