How to Assign New Plot Numbers for Plots that have been Sub-Divided
3 years ago
Dear Forum Members
I am buying a Residential Plot in Chennai within a layout. The seller is holding 4 Plots with Plot Nos as 38A (2400 Sq Feet), 38B (2400 Sq Feet), 39A (2250 Sq Feet) & 39B (2250 Sq Feet) and these 4 plots have now been divided and now being sold as 3 plots to satisfy the land & building plan approval criteria and requirements. The extent for the 3 plots A, B & C have been carved out of Plot Nos 38A, 38B, 39A & 39B.
The new plots have been divided as
Plot A – Now measuring 3300 Sq Feet – 2400 Sft taken from Plot 38A & 900 Sft taken from Plot Plot 38B
Plot B – Now measuring 3000 Sq Feet – 1500 Sft taken from Plot 38B & 1500 Sft taken from Plot 39A
Plot C – Now measuring 3000 Sq Feet – 750 Sft taken from Plot 39A & 2250 Sft taken from Plot 39B
The query I have is
1) How can I retain the original Plot No identity of Plot Nos 38 & 39 at the same time retain the new divisions of Plot A, B & C
2) Should the Plot numbers be registered as Plot No 38&39A (38A & 38B Part); Plot No 38&39B (38B Part & 39A Part); Plot No 38&39C (39A Part & 39B);
Shall appreciate advise and opinions of the expert members in this forum
Best regards

The plot numbers will be allotted by The Development of Authority of Chennai
The Development Authority of Chennai is responsible for allotting the plot numbers
