Land on multiple names

I have a plot registered on my father's name in 1999.it is original registery with khasra number.but people have said that plots in that area are sold to multiple peoples.the seller is died now.and the land is not in use by anyone . What should i do ? Can i sell the plot to another person ? Can i get the measurement done by the local patwari?

please provide more details on this issue to serve you. the facts are missing. however you can file a civil suit, if you have the registration paper and other documents.

plot can be sold to many people but usually registry (except bihar) can be done to only 1 buyer.
