Can someone cheat me & give their property as mortgage to more than one person ?

If i'm going to get a property as mortgage security from someone, then, is it true that the person can give their same property as mortgage to more than one person illegally, if he's fraud person....

A.Hi,
Since mortgage fraud is an emerging crime, therefore to secure yourself from such fraud you may check the documents with the registrar.
