Transfer of house ownership Transfer of house ownership

I am a married male in my mid-forties, working as a creative freelancer. My father has transferred ownership of our multi-storeyed residential house to my mother. My sister's crooked son is trying to take advantage of my mother's innocence and get the whole ownership of the house transferred to him. Is it legally possible for my mother to transfer house ownership to anyone she wants without the consent of her children?

A.Hi,
If it was your father's self-acquired property and he left it to your mother by way of a will, she can do with it is she pleases.
However, if the property was ancestral (something your father inherited), then the children have a say in the issue and she cannot transfer it to someone else without all legal heirs' consents.

A.Hi,
If your mother is the sole owner of the self-acquired property, she can do with it whatever she wishes.
However, if your father inherited the property from his ancestors, then you are all legal heirs along with your mother. As such, you can claim a share of the same. She will have no power to transfer it to your nephew if it is not consented to by all legal heirs.

A.If it is only in your mother's name, then she can transfer to whoever she wants to.
