Land Land

I have 6 acre land behind my house on which I have been doing farming for 55yrs, however it is not registered in my name, it is barren land in government books. Now government wants to acquire my land to make water tank on it. Please advise as we don't want this to happen to our land. What can we do to protect our land.

A.Hi,
The Government can obtain private property for public welfare, they exercise this power under the doctrine of eminent domain.
You have no choice but to claim compensation for the same. Register the remaining property in your name to avoid future hassles.

A.Hi,

You will be granted adequate compensation based on the market value of the land.
However, we would advise you to file a suit for declaration of title for the remaining property and then get it registered.
