Passport Application during Divorce

Im Roman Catholic by religion and right now in process of separation from my husband. We have been married 6 years with no kids. I'm being offered a job transfer abroad and need to apply for a passport but I want it with my maiden name. We live separate but he has not filed for a legal divorce yet. Im confused what to do. I cannot wait till the procedure ends or I might lose a great work opportunity. Please help.

A.As long as you have not added your husband's surname and changed it by following the total procedure of gazette publication etc., nothing stops you from applying for your passport in your maiden name whether or not you are separated
