Divorce issue Divorce issue

This is for a friend. He got married in 2012 and his wife moved out of his house in 2014. Since then she has contacted him only once asking for divorce but she is asking for 7lakhs alimony when it was her decision to move out of the house. Is there anyway he can get the divorce without paying alimony?

A.Hi,
Under law, the husband has a responsibility to maintain his wife in case of divorce. However, if he can prove that the wife earns more than he does, then he can request the Court to waive this obligation.

A.Hi,
No, he has a obligation to pay maintenance to his wife. The only way he can escape this is if he can prove his wife earns more than him.

A.Hello sir , As per your query if you convinced her of filing mutual divorce petition. And also as she herself don't want to live with your friend it becomes easier. Because it is willful desertion by your wife and considering other relevant provisions you can get divorce decree in your favour without giving any alimony.
