Ancestral property inheritance Ancestral property inheritance

My grandfather built a house registered in the name of my grandmother. Both are currently dead. My father has one living sister(married) and other siblings are all dead. My uncle's(elder brother) son live in the first floor of the house and we live in the ground floor. Me and my elder sister are both married. My father is saying that the property papers are lost. I want to know how to get the duplicate copy of the property papers and what will be our share in the property, when the division will be done.

A.All siblings have equal right irrespective of where they are living.
Also you can file FIR for missing property papers and then go to registrar office to get duplicate copy.

A.Hi,
Since it is an ancestral property, it will be inherited by all the siblings of your father including him, equally.
You are advised to go to the registrars office at your local jurisdiction along with the photostat copies and apply for a certified copy which is equal as the original and make a complaint to you local police station of such misplaced deed.
