Purchase of agricultural darkhast (bhoodan) land Purchase of agricultural darkhast (bhoodan) land

I am in the process of buying a piece of agricultural land in Challakere, Karnataka. The said land was granted to the forefathers of the current owner under the darkhast (bhoodan) scheme in 1976-77. The land has only been sub-divided within the family through inheritance so far. This is the first instance of a sale to a third party.
Can this land be sold as is by the current owner? Are there any other grant-letter/documents needed to be procured by the owner enabling the sale?

A.Hi,
A Bhoodan land cannot be sold or given on lease. Any commercial activity is also not allowed on it. Hereditary rights can be there but they cannot be sold. It should only be used for agricultural or related activities. Thank You
