Role of police in land or property dispute.
I want consultation related to property dispute with my cousin (which is also our neighbours). Police is pressuring us to agree to what my cousin wants. Yesterday, police said that if I do not agree with their proposals then my cousin will go to court. He was also warning me that if this matter goes to court, I will face so many problems to which I said that No, I do not agree with their proposals and I am ready for their next move. I had put my final decision yesterday itself. But today that policeman called me in police chowki and started pressuring me to agree to my cousin proposal. Do police has rights to interfere in property or land dispute?

you tell that you are fine for courts because police is for criminal cases and not for civil cases.
watch your back because your cousin can file false criminal cases.

Police have no role in the same unless they are ordered to enquire into the matter under Section 156(3) of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Cr. P.C).
