Concealing of property/address
Dear Sir/Mam,
I have been married for 11 years. My mother in law was fighting a property case at the time of my marriage with her brother in laws' children over ancestral property. I supported them financially in the household (rent, maintenance, grocery, other living expenses) all by myself while my husband (also has a younger brother, I was paying his daily expenses as well) was busy paying the lawsuit bills with his salary. this went on for 2 years till we moved out the city due to job for better prospects. After this, my husband has supported my mother-in law and brother in law financially and till date does that. Around 3-4 years back, the property dispute was settled and another property was exchanged in lieu of the disputed property with the aforementioned relatives. I was not made aware of the dealings in any manner. I have heard that some amount was also distributed in accounts of my mother in law, brother in law, his wife and my husband as well. But I was kept out of it. What right do I hold over this property as a daughter in law. Can I file RTI to get details of the property without knowing the address? I have a 9 year old daughter. My husband is least interested in this property since my brother had a son 1 year back. I seems that they all want to give the complete property to the grandson and keep my daughter out of the inheritance. What are my rights as a mother which I can revoke in case they don't give anything to my daughter. I don't maintain healthy relations with them (though we are on talking terms) so everything is done without letting me know. I feel since I have supported in their worst days (they were in poor financial condition when I got married), my daughter does have a right to have a share in my mother-in-laws property. Also, please confirm if my signatures were required anywhere in the deal during selling of the ancestral property as I am not aware of the same.
You can file a partition suit to claim property for your daughter. Your daughter will get a ancestral property as according to succession act.

According to succession Act your daughter will have right over the ancestral property. Moreover the property will first divided to your husband and his brother then the share of your husband will be given to your daughter. If you need property for your daughter should not consent for transfer of property to brother's son.
