We have one resident in our apartment complex (30 flats) who has not paid maintenance charges for past 8 months despite frequent reminders. What action can the apartment association take against this defaulter resident

A.Dear Sir,
You may get issue a legal notice and file a suit for recovery of arrears of maintenance charges with interest and penalty as per the rules of your Association. Such cases are more and more but Association people were not approaching the Civil Courts to teach a lesson to such defaulters.

A.Hi,
First, the association can ban the members from using the facilities until the charges are paid. Later, the apartment association can send a legal notice asking them to pay the maintenance charges and if they still fail to do so, then the association can file a case against them.
Thank you.
