Hello, My grandmother bought a piece of land in 1948 and My father is only a son and he inherited the same land from his mother( without any will). We are four siblings.Do we have any rights on it? Can my father gift it to any one of us?

A.Dear Sir,

It is your fathers exclusive property during his life time he can gift it away to anybody. You cannot do anything.

A.During the lifetime of your father, you don't have any right on that property. Your father can transfer that property in registered manner in favour of any person because this property is not ancestral but his self acquired property.

A.Dear Client,
as your father acquired that property from your grandmother, all his children will be the legal heirs for that property and will have equal rights on that property.
