I am a child of a broken marriage. My parents are divorced for 20 years (I’m23) I’m planning for studying abroad and I’m trying to get an education loan but everywhere I’m being harassed by the banks for divorce papers of my parents even if one of them is my Co borrower. Both of them had remarried separately, neither of them have the divorce papers (lost in shifting houses) they don’t know the case number to retrieve it again.
I’m going through mental trauma by each and every bank due to this. None of the bank is taking any other alternatives such as an affidavit. I have to move abroad in September and till now I have no funds. Banks are denying my loan left and right. Even finance corporations are not willing to give. All these are only because of the divorce papers, is there any way to find the divorce papers? Is there any possibility to provide an alternative? Please help
A.Dear client, I am sorry to hear that but in this case.
Particulars are insufficient. What is the age of your mother, when did she file petition for divorce, in which place, in which year, on which ground like cruelty, mutual consent by both the parties to the petition etc.,. If she lost her divorce papers she can obtain certified copy of the same from the court where she filed petition for grant of divorce. If she was represented by advocate, she can contact him and he will be helpful in getting another certified copy of divorce. If you got case number, she can obtain from e court portal if the concerned court uploaded the same, if it is recent case like after 2015 or so. If it is not so she can obtain from the concerned court by applying for certified copies of the same.
You have to find out the approximate year in which divorce took place and go to concerned court and search for such file in the record room. You can find it out.
