My husband has filed a divorce case. I also want divorce from him, but don't want to waste time and money behind the case. Can I just appear before the judge and say I don't want to contest the case, I want no alimony also, I just want to be divorced? As far as mutual consent divorce is concerned I don't trust my husband he may sign for the 1st motion but may not sign for the second motion.

The file will be referred to mediation centre if you are willing for mutual divorce then terms of mutual divorce will be reduced into writing and accordingly you may get divorce.

Mutual divorce generally takes anywhere between 6 to 18 months and this is because the Court will try to make both of parties absolutely sure that they want the divorce. Even if you want to divorce him, the case can not be shortened as rules need to be followed.
